My accounts do not have account numbers. What do I put in the account number field when adding an account for collections?

If your system of record does not create account numbers for your accounts, we suggest using a combination of the first three letters of the last name and the first three letters of the first name to create an account number. For example, John Smith would be SMIJOH. If there were two John Smith accounts you would simply add a number to the end of the account number, ex. SMIJON1, SMIJOH2. Consistency is key.
