During the life cycle of an account, many things can happen. Consumers have the option to file bankruptcy, seek attorney assistance, and dispute the account with your office. Many times these decisions are not made until they come into contact with our office. Each of these actions by the consumer triggers certain responsibilities on your part.
Bankruptcy Notices
You must report bankruptcy notices that your office receives immediately. Untimely reporting of this information exposes our office and your office to legal action by a bankruptcy attorney. It is against the law to collect on an account under bankruptcy.
Step 1: Find the account in your Consumer Portal.
Step 2: Use the Attach Documents feature at the top of the account screen.
Step 3: Name the file. Please name the file with the Darnel file number, the consumer last name, and type of document. Example: 2007038_Debtor_Bankruptcy.pdf
Step 4: Upload the File.
